"... A word in season to him who is weary..."
Isaiah 50:4

Chara holds a special meaning to Joy as it means “joy,” “gladness,” and “calm delight” in Greek. The musical symbol represents each person’s unique journey of healing. The growing leaves symbolise transformation and growth, the heart represents empathy and connection, the open hands represent support and acceptance, and the rising figure reflects the emergence of hope, joy, and resilience.
Together, these elements reflect her commitment to walking alongside each person as they discover their strengths, embrace growth, and rediscover joy in life.

Joy is passionate about walking alongside her clients in their personal growth journeys, using an empathetic, empowering, and integrative psychotherapy approach. She believes our early experiences shape how we relate to others and finds deep fulfillment in helping individuals and couples navigate trauma, identity struggles, and relationship challenges.
Previously, Joy worked at a social service counselling agency for five years, where she gained experience providing counselling through programmes under the Ministry of Social and Family Development, as well as marriage counselling by Syariah Court Singapore. She also journeyed alongside many self-referred clients from diverse racial and religious backgrounds, supporting them through struggles such as trauma, grief and loss, and family relationships.
Joy is currently pursuing further training at Bible College to deepen her understanding of the Christian faith and further develop her ability to thoughtfully integrate Christian perspectives into professional counselling.

Yes. Information shared during counselling is kept strictly confidential, except in the circumstances outlined below.
In accordance with the SAC Code of Ethics, confidentiality will be breached when there is a serious and imminent risk of harm to yourself or others, or where disclosure is otherwise required by law.
As it is the first session, some information gathering will be necessary. The session is an opportunity to discuss what brings you to counselling, explore your goals, and understand how we can work together in a way that feels supportive for you.
For most clients, bi-weekly sessions are recommended at the beginning of the counselling journey. As progress is made, sessions may be spaced out to every 3–4 weeks, depending on your needs and as mutually agreed between you and your counsellor.
My hope is to support you in achieving your counselling goals as effectively and efficiently as possible, so you can move towards the life you desire. Every counselling journey is unique; therefore, the pace and duration of counselling will vary. For some, it may take 3 sessions, while others may benefit from 15 or more sessions.
A complimentary 15-minute consultation call is available. I understand that taking the first step into counselling can feel daunting. To make it easier to begin, new clients will receive 20% off their first counselling session upon registration.
Counselling is a personal process, and finding the right counsellor matters. I check in with my clients periodically about the pace, techniques, and how comfortable they feel with the process.
If you feel we may not be the right fit, please feel free to bring it up. I will be happy to discuss your concerns and, where appropriate, recommend another counsellor who may be better suited to your needs.
